This event is hosted by the Friends of Columbia.  Guests gather at the old school yard next to the Columbia City Cemetery, CSHP, 22956 School House St., Columbia, CA.  They are greeted by costumed lamp holders and the Reader of the Record.  The group is escorted to the Cemetery and guided to 12, or more, grave sites where the Reader of the Record calls upon the departed to come forth and to tell the story of a time past that created our present.  As the journey unfurls, these voices tell of life in this Gold Rush community.  Come share the joys, the sorrows, the successes, the difficulties, and yes, even the deaths of these early pioneer settlers.

Linda Clark will portray Abbie Starbird, a young woman who died of consumption 10 days after the birth of her only child.
